ExxonMobil Success Program Seminar Nov. 10th

I would like to invite you to an ExxonMobil Success Program Seminar presented by Dr. Steven Girardot entitled " Seven Habits of Highly Effective Georgia Tech Students" this Thursday, November 10 at 11:00 AM in EST L1255 (the ChBE auditorium).

Dr. Girardot holds two degrees from Georgia Tech: a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master's Degree in Chemistry. He completed his doctorate at Emory University in Chemistry and Environmental Health, and also received a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Epidemiology from Emory's Rollins School of Public Health. Before joining the Center for Academic Success, Steven served as Assistant Director for TA and Graduate Student Programs at Tech's Center for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL) and as a Program Coordinator at Tech's Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC), where he managed tutoring programs that linked Tech students to local elementary schools. His professional interests include teaching and learning in introductory STEM courses and factors which lead to student success in the first and second years of college. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family, playing tennis, going to GT football games, and enjoying Atlanta's great restaurants!

ChBE Study Abroad

ChBE Undergraduates:

Please come to an ExxonMobil Success seminar entitled "International Programs for ChBE Undergraduates" on Thursday, October 13 from 11:00-12:00 in EST Room L1255 (auditorium).   

Dr. Agrawal, Dr. Walton, Dr. Fuller and Dr. Allen will be presenting this seminar.  Dr. Fuller  will be the instructor for the Georgia Tech Lorraine (GTL) Program in Metz, France during Summer 2010 and will be providing an overview of the program. During Summer 2012, ChBE 3110 (Thermo II) and ChBE 3200 (Transport I) will be offered at Georgia Tech Lorraine.  In addition to these courses, there is also the possibility of taking additional Georgia Tech technical, humanities and social science electives. 

Dr. Walton will discuss the program at the Imperial College of London offered during Summer 2012.  In addition to receiving  six credit hours for ChBE 4200/4210 and ChBE 4803 (Technical or ChBE Elective), this four-week program includes opportunities for students to participate in cultural events and sightseeing.  Finally, Dr. Allen will provide a preview of a new international option to take ChBE 4520 (Design) at KAIST University in Korea which will begin either in 2012 or 2013.

This presentation will be beneficial for students considering international study for Summer 2012 as well as for students who may be interested in these programs for future summers.  Information will also be provided regarding financial aid and merit based scholarships available for these study abroad programs.

I would like to invite you to an ExxonMobil Success Program Seminar presented by Ms. Andrea Johns entitled " Interviewing: Beyond the Basics" this Thursday, September 29 at 11:00 AM in EST L1255 (the ChBE auditorium). 

Ms. Johns is an employee of Georgia Tech Career Services and is in charge of diversity programming and outreach services. She assists students with resume preparation, networking, interviewing, and job search strategies. She is the Career Services liaison to College of Engineering (Chemical, Electrical and Computer, Aerospace, Industrial and Systems). Ms. Johns is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers and the Georgia College Personnel Association.
