Georgia Tech’s School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering was established in 1901, making it one of the first chemical engineering programs in the country. With 800 undergraduates, 200 graduate students, and more than 40 full-time faculty members, it is also one of the largest. The College of Engineering at Georgia Tech consistently ranks among the top five engineering colleges in the country.

ISYE 4803 B Special Topics
There seems to be some confusion regarding the ISYE 4803 B
Special Topics Leadership & Team Effect course.
This is NOT the same course listed on the accepted
list of Technical electives and WILL NOT be accepted as a technical
elective in CHBE. The section of the course in OSCAR also reads that it
is only a free elective.
CHBE allowed this course to be accepted last semester only because there was no indication that the course material had been changed as well as the course title. Once this information was divulged we decided we cannot accept this course moving forward because it does not contain enough engineering content.

Classroom Chaos Day 1
Welcome back and happy 1st day of class everyone!
The advising office would like to touch on a couple of quick points:
CHBE 4803 A Taite
This class WILL NOT count as a CHBE or BioTech elective! We will only accept it as a 2000 level Tech Elective.
CHBE 4803 B Kohl
If you have previously received credit for the IC Fabrication course, You CAN NOT take this class. It is essentially the same course and you will not receive credit for both. It WILL count as a CHBE elective or 3000-4000 level Tech Elective.
Process Control and Unit Ops
If you are a graduating senior, are not registered for these, and have not contacted us to let us know, ....................
Patience Young Jedi
As I am sure everyone knows, the first week of school can be chaotic at times. There will be last minute classroom changes as well as seats added (in some sections). If you are waitlisted in a section of a course, and the other section for the same class has open seats, register for the section with open seats! Your waitlisted section will probably not have any additional seats open.

Waitlisting
Welcome back everybody and Happy New Year!
Apparently folks missed the email the registrar sent out about the waitlisting feature so we decided to write a little something here to try and explain what is going on.
Waitlisting will not be turned on until Friday. This means that any class that you are waitlisted for or that has waitlisted seats will not kick in until the registrar turns the system "on" on Friday.
It is our intentioon to open enough seats to accommodate everyone on the waitlist for the core CHBE courses.
This DOES NOT INCLUDE Process Control or Unit Ops. I will be working with graduating seniors to give them first priority to those seats. This also DOES NOT APPLY to CHBE electives.
We're looking forward to seeing everyone next week and good luck this semester!!
