Position Summary: The Senior Technician provides assistance to
Technology staff with testing, analysis, and reporting of new material
development in conjunction with product development efforts undertaken in the laboratory,
pilot plant facilities and paper machines.
Senior Technician will prepare fibrous/chemical mixtures in
the laboratory and produce handsheets of experimental prototypes as well as
perform physical, chemical testing on raw materials and new product prototypes
according to specified test procedures as well as review and modify test
methods to ensure accurate and useful data, assist with machine trails, monitor
checkpoints and collect samples and data.
Senior Technician will also assist in the development of new procedures
and protocols used in testing prototype products and raw materials and will also
assist customers with technical service using expertise on specialized
equipment, and may be required to visit customers from time to time.
Ideal candidate would have Bachelor of Science in Paper
Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or Biology
or related fields. Ideal candidate
would also have at least 2 years experience within a laboratory environment.
